Dear friends,
What a crazy week again! I still have not listed all of my 100 items from last week nor for this week. I have a pile of about 150 I Sell sheets that I am taking with me to New York and will try and list in airports and hotels. Probably not going to happen!
The USPS Teleseminar last Thursday night was incredible! We all learned so much–I want to give you one last chance to purchase it at less than $99.00 (the price when this offer expires). Click here. This link will expire in 48 hours at noon on Saturday, June 2nd.
Our Palm Desert Aztecs charity auction ends today–so please click this link to see all of the amazing items and at such great prices, bid now! Boot Camp in a Box ends at 8:45 am Pacific time today. Thank you so much to all of you who have bid to help our team!
In the midst of all of this chaos, we actually had a baseball tournament this weekend. The boys did very well, winning two of their four games. I even managed to schedule a photo shoot (with my professional photographer brother Lee) at the tournament. The photos were taken for an Entrepreneur Magazine feature article coming out this fall.
I love this photo because this is me actually listing at the game!
Don’t miss out on the Lynn Recommends section, because we have announced the dates of our ONLY Live Boot Camp for 2007. I am so excited for this and can’t want to teach you all the new things I have learned this past year!
In our Special Announcement section, I am pleased to share one of my audio stories from the Money Making Madness audio set. You won’t want to miss this–I have been cracking myself up (and tearing up) as I do these recordings.
My feature article is about a fiesta faux pas that I made this week! Yes, I do make mistakes and sometimes this is the best way to learn–so I decided to share.
Finally, this week we have another great story about the things you all have sold on eBay. This one comes from Lynn in New York. She tells us how a loser becomes a winner.
Here’s to Successful eBaying!

It was just amazing!! I learned so much!!! Your class is invaluable! “You delivered EVERYTHING you promised – actually you OVER delivered!!” –Cathi A., Florida |

I have been having tons of fun recording the audio for The 1st 100 Best Things I’ve Sold on eBay and More 100 Best Things I’ve Sold on eBay Money Making Madness. I have laughed, cried and cracked myself up.
I wanted to share one of my favorites so far with you. Click here to listen to story number eleven from More 100 Best Things I’ve sold on eBay Money Making Madness. Learn how a $20 garage sale find turned into $2,750 on eBay!
Some of you have already pre-ordered this set of audio. THANK YOU! It will ship out around June 1st (please be patient–it has been much more work than we ever imagined). To get an hour of useable audio takes me about 3 hours of recording. So the 12 hours that we are shipping took me 36 hours of non-stop serious and not so serious talking. A HUGE undertaking!
For those of you who haven’t pre-ordered, the special pricing will end on May 31st–Hey, that is tonight at midnight! Click here to order. There is be about 5 and a half hours of audio for each book–so the low introductory price will include 11 hours of audio.
By the way, it is not just the words written in the book, but tons of insider information, stories about the side photos and all sorts of things I have been able to add to make it more interesting. Crazy! I had no idea how long it would take to record a book–but it has been so much fun!
I can’t wait for you all to laugh and cry along with me. Hopefully, more laughing than crying and more learning than anything else.
‘How to Avoid a Fiesta Faux Pas!‘
by Lynn A. Dralle, ‘The Queen of Auctions’
I was at a thrift store last week and I saw a HUGE box of pink Fiesta ware. I know that Fiesta does really well but what I learned from this $85.00 purchase will hopefully save you from making an expensive mistake also!
I didn’t even call anyone to look it up on eBay. I figured that there were about 40 pieces and at $2 a piece I couldn’t lose. Or could I?
I hauled it out to my car quite pleased with myself. The funny part of this story is that I have never tried selling Fiesta before because I never see it at garage sales or in thrift stores.
Well, I got home and started to do my research. The newer pieces of Fiesta are not that desirable and list for almost nothing on Replacements. The cereal bowl in my pattern only goes for $5.99.
And, as I dug through the box, I was very discouraged to find that almost all of the dinner plates had dark grey marks on them. This is typical with fiesta ware. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach that I had just wasted $85.00.
And to top it off, when I went back to my thrift store the very next day–everything was half off! I could have bought it for only $42.50.
Oh well, best thing to do would be to learn the differences between the older Fiesta marks and the newer Fiesta marks so I would never do this again! And to get it listed and get my “pink” Fiesta elephant out of my house. I don’t like to be reminded of my mistakes!
I quickly got it all listed and I only sold 3 pieces for a total of $29.97.
Here is a photo of the newer Fiesta back stamp–
black script in cap letters.
Here is a sample of what the older impressed lower case signature looks like. But be CAREFUL because I guess this was used on certain more recent pieces like bowls and juice pitchers. If there would have been an H mark at the base it would have definitely been new. This mark could be Old or New.
Here is a link to a great web site that explains the signatures better.
Fiesta was first introduced in 1936 and was designed by Frederick Rhead. The line was very art deco and modern and made in bold bright colors. It was discontinued in 1973. So the pieces made from 1936 to 1973 are (for the most part) the most desirable. Fiesta was re-introduced for the 50th anniversary and production began again in 1986.
Here is a link to the Homer Laughlin site with the colors and the years it was produced. Awesome information.
Notice that several colors like Lilac were only produced recently for a limited number of years and these may be worth something on eBay.
Remember to watch for the vintage pieces. Here is an example of a vintage Fiesta piece selling for $3550! (Can you believe it’s an egg cup!)
I hope this was a valuable Fiesta Lesson–It certainly was for me!
