Dear eBayers,
Let’s see, where can I start? It has been one of those weeks! For some reason, a discussion board was set up on eBay to trash a few of my tips for selling clothing. Actually, they didn’t just trash my advice–they started to personally attack me. Well, as Mo says “Any publicity is good publicity, and I am going to start calling you Paris.” Ha Ha.
Anyway, it was very hurtful because the majority of the people posting comments don’t know anything about me or why my clothing advice is valuable. They just jumped on the fact that two of my tips challenge popular opinion.
So, I am going to clarify my advice in this week’s feature article. Remember, these tips are what work for me! They may not work for you, but keep in mind that I have been making a very good living on eBay for a long time.
Then after all of that drama, I printed out my mom’s and my plane tickets on Monday for eBay Live. It turned out that I had bought our tickets for the wrong week. I have never done this in my life! I bought the tickets while I was in NY with Peter and did it without my appointment book. I will never do that again!
Luckily, it got all straightened out, and as you are reading this, we are on the floor at eBay Live! having a blast! By the way at 12:08 pm Pacific today, I am the kick-off interview with Griff and Lee from the Convention Floor. I am a little nervous but always have fun with those two. Read about how to listen in below in the Lynn Recommends section.
In our Special Announcement section, I am pleased to announce that there are just 17 seats left for the ONLY Live boot camp this year. I am so excited to see those of you who have signed up to join me this September in the Palm Springs area. We have actually secured the location for the event and I am super duper excited.
If you’re in Boston, don’t forget to stop by our booth at eBay Live! #528 right by the entrance. Come over and meet my mom, my best friend Melanie and me! And don’t forget to ask us about our show special.
Finally, this week we have another great story about the things you all have sold on eBay. This one comes from Dave and Debbie. Read below about their lucky casino chip that sells for eighty-eight times face value.

“I came back from the seminar and I turned in my notice at work – that’s how much I believe in your system! We became Powersellers exactly one month after we attended your course. I know it works. I really enjoyed meeting you – we had a blast!” –Anne Schnurman, Gig Harbor, WA |

“I just wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to you, Lee and your mom for such an inspirational eBay Boot Camp. I have attended other seminars but never have I had such a hands-on experience where I left with a sense of accomplishment and the UTMOST confidence that I will succeed.” “Your method of teaching is so effective, the way you taught us step by step EXACTLY what to do and then actually had us DO what you taught us – as you mentored us through the entire process!!! It was just amazing!! I learned so much!!! Your class is invaluable! “You delivered EVERYTHING you promised – actually you OVER delivered!!” –Cathi A., Florida |

‘Clarification to my top 7 Clothing Tips‘
by Lynn A. Dralle, ‘The Queen of Auctions’
First of all–concerning last week’s article, I would never steer my loyal ezine readers wrong. I am here to make you as successful as I am. I have sold tens of thousands of dollars of clothing on eBay and my top 7 tips were meant to show you how to do it as quickly and efficiently as possibly–because that is what will make you money!
Here are some exceptions to my 7 rules:
1. If your item is a $50 to $100 (or more) piece of clothing–then by all means put it on a mannequin and take several photos.
If your item is an $18 item (my average selling price), then follow my top 7 tips from last week.
Here is my rationale behind this. It takes me five extra minutes per item to put a piece of clothing on a mannequin. I can find and list 100 unique items in 15 to 20 hours. Breaking it down further, it takes me eight minutes per item to photograph and list.
So, if I had put all those (60+) men’s shirts on a mannequin last week, it would have been another 300 wasted minutes or 5 hours. In those 5 hours I could have listed 37.5 more items, at $18 per item, that is $675 in lost sales.
From my experience, putting an $18 item on a mannequin may bring in a 10 to 20% increase in sales price. So I gave up $216 at the upper end for almost $700 in sales.
Check out this folded Men’s shirt from last week.
I can’t believe what it sold for!
Do you want to make money on eBay or waste time? It is your choice. The cornerstone of the Dralle Method is to use time to your advantage.
2. When I said photograph it folded, I meant folded or laid flat–I left out one tiny word. I was trying to save you from putting it on a mannequin as explained above.
If your item is a $50 to $100 (or more) piece of clothing, knock yourself out and measure it. As a savvy shopper, I know that I wear an 8 to 10 in INC (my favorite brand) of pants and a medium to a large in tops. You never really know until it arrives and you try it on anyway. That is why I don’t recommend measuring it unless people ask or it is an expensive piece.
Once again, do the math–and re-read #1 above. It takes at least five minutes to measure it and the saved three hours can mean an additional $700 in sales.
These tips are all my opinion, but I have been selling on eBay for almost 10 years and have made a lot of money. In that time, I have sold close to $1,000,000 worth of antiques, collectibles, clothing and miscellaneous items on eBay.
And as you all know, I still list 100 new & unique items each and every week. What I suggest may go against popular opinion–so try both options and then decide what works for you. But know that I always have your best interests at heart. I really love selling on eBay and I want it to be a positive experience for all of you just as it has been for me.
Happy eBaying,
Lynn

hmm…to be honest i think i would pushcare more things from your shop over etsy. ebay has changed, and it’t just too much of a hassle even as a buyer…takes days for them to let you know you’ve won something.
